How Too Much Goodness Can Ruin Everything
So, what exactly is too much goodness? Goodness is a term used to describe the positively-oriented characteristics of someone or something that can be considered “too much”. While the term “goodness” may seem like a positive quality, it can also carry negative connotations if taken too far. This is because there is a limit to how much goodness can be contained within someone/something before it becomes toxic.
The term “toxicity” refers to an excess of goodness in someone/something that may cause problems for the receiver. For example, if someone becomes too kind and caring, they may become overly trusting and easily confused others’ intentions; this could make them vulnerable to being taken advantage of others, who will use their kindness against them.
There are also instances when too much goodness can cause harm to the person/thing itself: for example, an over-sensitive person may be overly sensitive to other people’s emotions and therefore unable to cope with stress, or an overachiever may put themselves under too much pressure and become exhausted the end of the day.
So how do we avoid overdoing it? One way is to limit your exposure to things that may cause you to feel overwhelmed and overwhelmed feelings, such as being exposed to too many beautiful pictures on Instagram. Another way is to take notice when you are doing things
