The TRUTH about Virtual Assistants (and why they’re not as effective as you think)
TL;DR: Virtual assistants are not real people who will help you with daily tasks like laundry and groceries. So unless you have a huge amount of time and money to waste, don’t bother with them!
Virtual assistants are all the rage right now. That’s because they promise to save you time and make your life easier. After all, they can take care of all your errands, keep your schedule organized, and even do some light research for you.
There’s just one problem: they’re not all created equal. In fact, most of them are pretty useless.
That’s because they’re not real people. They’re software programs that mimic human behavior to perform tasks that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to do yourself.
And while virtual assistants may help you out in some areas, they can never truly replace a real person.
For example, you can’t pay someone to pick up a dry cleaning order for you when it comes in late—even if you have them set up an account for that purpose. You also can’t really delegate certain tasks to them, like research or planning activities.
So while virtual assistants may seem like a convenient way to cut down on your workload, the reality is that they won’t actually help you very much at all.
