Exercise is One Tool to a Holistic, Healthy Approach
Exercise is one tool of many for a holistic healthy approach. There is no single “right” way to exercise or to eat or to sleep, and neither are perfect or easy. However, both can be used in conjunction with each other to achieve a balance of health and fitness.
There are many different ways of designing an exercise regimen, with varying benefits and limitations. The most important factor is to start with something that is realistic and attainable for the individual. If someone has been inactive for a long time, they may need to start slowly doing small amounts at first before increasing their workload gradually over time.
On the other hand, someone who has been active all their life may need to scale back at first in order to avoid injury, which can lead to more serious consequences if continued. A healthy diet should also be taken into consideration when designing an exercise regimen as it can have a significant impact on how well someone does in the gym.
Similarly, people who enjoy working out more than others may also want to consider their preferred workout style such as interval training, weightlifting/bodybuilding, cardio/running/swimming etc. Other factors that should be considered include motivation (such as what the individual values most) and accessibility (for example whether they have access to equipment or facilities).
Basically, think of this as a triangle each side has equal importance. Exercise is one tool and food is one tool and sleep is one tool that makes up trident to fight off the unhealthy beast that plagues most of us.
